Selecting, cultivating and delivering an effective monologue can be a daunting experience. Your monologue must not only demonstrate your range and strength as an actor but it must also demonstrate you can play the role for which you are auditioning. This master class will take you through the entire process of auditioning with a monologue.

Preparation
Actors are to come to the first session with their headshot and resume; prepared to present a one-minute monologue. A second prepared monologue should be at the ready. Actors will be asked to prepare a new monologue for the second session.

About your instructor
Ricardo Gutierrez
Ricardo is a veteran director, actor, producer, writer and teaching professional with over 40 years of working experience in Chicago and Los Angeles. In addition to acting on many of Chicago’s premier stages, he has appeared in numerous film and television projects. As a producer and director, he has auditioned thousands of actors. Ricardo is the Executive Artistic Director of Teatro Vista.
